What AI2Fin does with exchange data

AI2Fin is a tax and expense tool, not a portfolio tracker. What it needs from an exchange is the trades — date, pair, amount, price, fee — so each disposal can be given a capital-gains treatment alongside the rest of your records. Balances and live holdings are not what it is for, which is why the Connectors page has no exchange tile: a live feed would add a subscription-style sync for data the product does not use.

Export from Kraken

1

Trades

Kraken → History → Export → type Trades, your date range, CSV.
2

Ledgers (optional)

The Ledgers export includes deposits, withdrawals, staking rewards and fees. Import it if you want those as transactions too — rewards are income in most jurisdictions.

Import into AI2Fin

Transactions → Import → drop the CSV. AI2Fin proposes a column mapping (time → date, pair + type → description, cost → amount, fee → fee) and remembers it for the next Kraken file. Multi-currency is handled; pick the account you want the trades recorded against.

Working out the gain

Use the crypto tax calculator for a quick estimate, or the asset register to hold cost base per lot. AI2Fin surfaces the treatment with its reasoning shown; confirm eligibility and method with your accountant or tax authority.

Frequently asked

Not planned. Net-worth trackers integrate exchanges because they show balances; AI2Fin’s job is the tax consequence of a trade, which a periodic export serves well. If you need holdings synced too, a portfolio tracker is the right tool alongside AI2Fin.
Any exchange that exports CSV works the same way — Binance, Coinbase, CoinSpot, Swyftx. Mapping is remembered per source.
